Wembley school visited by BAFTA Kids roadshow with Place2Be

The BAFTA Kids Roadshow in partnership with Place2Be visited Park Lane Primary School on 5 November where children were treated to a TV workshop hosted by CBBC presenters Lauren Layfield (The Playlist, Dengineers) and Ed Petrie (All Over the Place, Dad) to boost students’ confidence and creativity.

Lauren and Ed were joined by guest speakers from the Disney Animation Team.

Beth Parker and Divya Sachdeva have worked on shows such as 101 Dalmatian Street, Sadie Sparks, PJ Masks, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir and the upcoming Chip ‘n’ Dale for Disney+.

BAFTA Kids has been partnering with Place2Be for three years and supports the values of perseverance, integrity, compassion and creativity. Through our school visits with the BAFTA Kids Roadshow we champion children’s creativity, teach important life skills through film, television and games, and provide access to positive and diverse role models.

“I’ve loved doing the BAFTA Kids Roadshow this year as it proves just how engaged and full of potential young people are today. The kids were all so lively and keen to learn about the worlds of film, games and TV (as well as hold a BAFTA mask of course!) I hope the Park Lane students had as much fun as I did, and I can’t wait to see them achieve great things.” Lauren Layfield, Capitol Radio & TV Presenter
“You could see it starting to dawn on some of the kids’ faces that this is not a closed industry. There are many opportunities for the taking if you know where to look for them!” Ed Petrie, TV Presenter
