Place2Be announces theme for Children’s Mental Health Week 2022
With Children’s Mental Health Week 2022 less than four months away, today Place2Be have announced that next year’s theme is Growing Together.
Human beings change and grow– we do it all the time and in many different ways. Physical growth is easy to see as we grow from babies to children, teenagers to adults. We grow intellectually as we gain new knowledge, skills, and understanding at school, and beyond.
Growing Together is about growing emotionally and finding ways to help each other grow. Challenges and setbacks can help us to grow and adapt and trying new things can help us to move beyond our comfort zone into a new realm of possibility and potential. However, emotional growth is often a gradual process that happens over time, and sometimes we might feel a bit ‘stuck’.
For Children’s Mental Health Week 2022, Place2Be is encouraging children (and adults) to consider how they have grown, what they need to help them grow, and how they can help others to grow too. Watch the video below to learn more about the theme.
After October half term, we’ll launch our free resources for primary and secondary schools, and for parents and carers. These will include assembly guides, slides, group activities, top tips, and more to help schools and youth groups explore what it means to Grow Together. All of the resources can be adapted for use in school, for home-schooling, online lessons or independent learning.
Following the success of Children’s Mental Health Week 2021, we’ll also be re-launching our Dress to Express fundraising campaign for schools, organisations, and individuals. During Children's Mental Health Week 2021, your support helped raise over £90,000 for Place2Be.
As we get nearer to the week we'll also share resources for parents, and our social media and fundraising guides to help children, young people, and adults across the country shout about the week and raise vital funds for Place2Be.
Place2Be launched the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health. Now in its eighth year, we hope to encourage more people than ever to get involved and spread the word.
