Getting started with your fundraising
Getting started with your fundraising
Ready to start your fundraising? Follow our step-by-step guide below and take your first step to raising money for children and young people’s mental health.
If you have any questions, get in touch with our friendly team and we'll be happy to help!
Step 1: Choose your fundraising activity
From bake sales and dress-up days to games nights and marathons, you can find a fun and exciting way to fundraise for Place2Be!
Join Team Place2Be at one of our events, or simply do your own thing - you can choose something from our list of ideas. However you decide to fundraise, you’ll be helping children and young people get the mental health support they need.
Step 2: Set-up your online fundraising page
After choosing your fundraising activity, it’s time to set up an online fundraising page! Having an online fundraising page is like a digital sponsorship form – you can share your page, collect donations online and send them directly to Place2Be.
Use JustGiving, one of the UK’s largest online fundraising platforms, to create your page. Personalise it by adding your story, a fundraising target, and photos. Once you’re set up you can easily share it with friends, family and colleagues to start seeing those pounds roll in.
Step 3: Download our fundraising resources
Now that you’re all set up and ready to go, be sure to download our handy resources to guide you towards a successful fundraiser!
We have loads of free fundraising resources waiting for you, including:
- a fundraising pack full of tips, advice and inspirational stories from others
- posters and flyers to use during your fundraising
- bunting you can make at home for your activity.
Step 4: Share your plans
It’s time to start telling your friends and family about your fundraiser! Share your JustGiving page in a personal message to friends and family, or share it far and wide through social media. Keep everyone up-to-date with your progress, whether you’re training for an event or preparing for your own fundraiser.
Don’t forget to tell us your fundraising plans too! We love hearing how you’re getting involved and are here to support you every step of the way.
