Some people complete solo activities, but we decided on a team event. We found this particularly rewarding to share our achievements together as a group. It was a great exercise for team building. Ryan, who did the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with his colleagues

  • Tackle the toughest obstacle course and do a Tough Mudder – you can choose between doing a 5km, 10km or 15km race.

  • Have a dress-down day – anyone can get involved a dress-down day, whether your school class dresses up in non-uniform, or your colleagues in the workplace get comfy in the office.
  • Start knitting and sell your crafts to keep friends and family warm.
  • Have a spring clean or clear-out and raise money by selling your things online or at a car boot sale.
  • Host a fun party themed with your favourite sport – whether it’s Wimbledon, cricket, golf, football, the Olympics or motorsport, a party with fun games and good food is a great way to raise money.
  • Are you a film buff? Get your friends together for a movie marathon and ask them to donate the price for a night at the cinema.
  • Organise a Christmas Jumper Day at your school, workplace or local club – see who has the best and worst festive jumpers.

Go out and find something that sparks your imagination. There are fundraising activities for everyone, and fundraising is inclusive. I would recommend challenging yourself, as you will get a great buzz from the final result. Ryan, who did the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge with his colleagues

One of our favourite fundraising ideas!

Challenge yourself and do an event

From walking and cycling to skydiving and running, we've got an event for you! You can do it as a solo challenge or team up with friends or colleagues. Either way, we'd love to have you join #TeamPlace2Be!

Take a look at our events

It wasn't just a great chance to raise money for a worthy cause, it was also a brilliant team building activity where I made friends for life. My top tips are: Have a lead co-ordinator, find a way to keep in touch before, during and after - WhatsApp is always good for sharing directions, parking and photos, have a practice meet up if you can, decide how you're going to celebrate! James, who took on a Tough Mudder with his colleagues
